Nuclear Medicine Research PET-CT Scan Research PET-CT Scan Equipment Faculty Nuclear Medicine Program Information
We have very active NM practices in adult and pediatric nuclear medicine. We are also very busy with PET-CT, with tremendous opportunities for research in PET-CT via our extensive databases. We have active funded research programs with PET-CT in lung cancer, myeloma and related plasma cell dyscrasias, breast cancer, lung cancer, and tinnitus. Additioinally, we have NIH and other grant applications in head and neck cancer, parathyroid imaging, and infection imaging either in process or under review. We have published extensively in the last few years, and have many more manuscripts in preparation.
We have a dedicated medical research cyclotron. We have access to free FDG and F-18 labeled NaF for animal research. We have an expanding program with myocardial imaging research in concert with our colleagues in cardiology and in cardiac MRI.
The interested faculty member, resident, or fellow will find ample material for research, either basic or applied in the clinic. The limiting factor will be time and interest. There are more opportunities for involvement in research than we can possibly fulfill.
We have a very fine pediatric hospital, Arkansas Children’s Hospital, for those interested in pediatric research. While it is currently very involved in nuclear medicine imaging, it will be even busier when the proposed PET-CT arrives in 2007 to 2008.
