HONORS:
State Prize Winner, Russia  (the highest state award in Russia) Maiman (inventor of laser) International Award from Laser Centers of America, the USA.

SPECIAL INTERESTS:
Biomedical engineering with focus on laser medicine  and its integration with another techniques (e.g. bio-nanotechnology)  and  imaging (e.g., MRI, ultrasound, microwave, etc.). Among recent achievements : flow cytometry in vivo, high resolution optical imaging of individual cancer cells, laser-based chemosensitivity and radiosensitvity tests, image-guided laser treatment of cancer and infections with gold nanoclusters, phototherapy of lymphedema. He has published more than 150 papers and five books.
