Welcome to the UAMS Radiology Residency website.

Deciding where to apply, interview, and rank programs is a difficult and important decision.  Please take the time to explore this site, and our linked Department of Radiology site, so that you can make an informed choice.

We are very proud of our residency and our residents! One of our strengths is our large and well balanced patient population (1,200 beds in 3 hospitals).  Another is our size (large enough for flexibility and lots of fun, but small enough so we all get to know each other really well).  This is important to our program because we are interested in each resident as an individual.  Our faculty is very stable and all enjoy teaching and working with residents.  Dr. Ferris has been Chairman since 1977. I have recently been named as the Program Director after serving as Associate Director last year.

On a more subjective note, we respect our residents and try to provide the best possible learning environment, with an emphasis on collegiality and team work.  Faculty-taught conferences are low-key and non-stressful.  Our residents are busy, but they consider that an asset.  They are confident that when they leave us they are prepared for any fellowship or job they choose.
