Students who are considered "at risk" for out-of-home placement due to emotional and behavioral problems.
Working with students - on their terms
We want students to be able to meet us on their terms, where they feel
comfortable. Our school-based program allows us to directly observe how
students relate to their peers and to those in positions of authority.
Through daily contact withthese
students, we can more effectively develop intervention measures and are often
able to provide guidance before a serious situation develops.
In addition to seeing students at our school
clinic, we will gladly meet with them and their families in their homes or
elsewhere in the community, if needed.
Our open and flexible approach to treatment
and therapy allows us to reach beyond the therapist/client relationship.
We are able to form bonds of trust and become both therapist and mentors to
these students in need.
Therapy and Treatment
We strive to help students over come
the intense pressures they often face, including but not limited to:
To better accommodate each student's
individual needs, we approach therapy and treatment in a variety of ways:
-
Individual Therapy
-
Group Therapy
- Family Therapy
- Family Night
- Social Skills Activities
- Collateral Interventions
- On/Off Site Interventions
- Crisis Intervention/Stabilization
- Med Management
We realize students may be sensitive about receiving
mental health therapy. We work within the school system to reduce the
stigma related to mental health issues and treatment, and educate students,
their families, and the school about mental health.
Summer Program
In addition to our
in-school services, we provide an eight-week summer program for at-risk
students. The program is open to student from Little Rock, North Little
Rock, and the surrounding areas. In a positive, structured environment,
students learn about:
- Anger Control Techniques
- Conflict Resolution Skills
- Self Esteem
- Coping Skills
- Interpersonal Relationship Skills
- Positive Social Skills
