STRIVE is a school-based community outreach program located at Pine Street in North Little Rock. The goal of the program is to provide intensive outpatient therapy for students who are at risk for out-of-home placement, due to emotional and behavioral problems, helping them develop a positive identity and value system. The mission of our program is to help students who are failing academically and socially develop the identity and values they need to be successful in life. It is our belief that many students who are failing academically have used acting out behaviors as a way to avoid negative feelings they have and continue to experience on a daily basis. For this reason testing does not show the true potential of many of the students. They have reached a point where academic success will not exist unless emotional and behavioral problems are resolved. For the students we enroll, emotional and behavioral problems are the primary concern. |
