Gary Schroeder, Ph.D.

Gary Schroeder, PhD

Gary W. Schroeder, Ph.D., is a licensed psychologist, assistant professor, and consulting scientist with the Department of Psychiatry at UAMS. At the Programs for Adults, he conducts psychological evaluations, provides psychotherapy and hypnosis and teaches UAMS resident psychiatrists.

Dr. Schroeder received his doctorate in psychology from the University of Iowa. He completed his clinical psychology internship at the Arkansas Department of Human Services, Division of Mental Health Services. Dr. Schroeder held positions as attending psychologist, psychotherapist and psychotherapy services manager at Bridgeway Hospital in North Little Rock prior to joining the faculty at UAMS in 1994.

Dr. Schroeder is a Certified Group Therapist (CGP) and a founder of the National Registry of Certified Group Psychotherapists. He is also certified in clinical hypnosis by the American Society of Clinical Hypnosis. He is a member of the American Psychological Association and has served on the Board of Directors of the Arkansas Psychological Association.
