Brandi Hankins, MD
PGY-III
I was raised in Little Rock, went to Pulaski Academy in high school, attended the University of Central Arkansas and University of Arkansas at Little Rock and received my Bachelors Degree in Biology in 2000.
I began medical school at UAMS in 2002 and it wasn’t until I did my Psychiatry rotation my third year that I knew what I wanted to do in life. Having the Veterans Hospital, UAMS and the State Hospital all on the same campus allowed for dynamic patient experiences as a student. The faculty and residents were truly involved with the students and their education, which is one of the reasons I choose to stay at UAMS for residency. I have been very pleased with my decision. My colleagues aren't only the people that I spend my day with, they are close friends. The program work hours are wonderful, allowing time for my 4-year-old daughter and the rest of my family. I plan to do a fellowship here and hope to continue on as Faculty in the UAMS Department of Psychiatry to play an active role in educating our students and residents.
