Research Technologist I

Bachelors Degree in Psychology, Sociology or related field plus 1 year
research experience, OR High School Diploma plus 5 years
research experience.

Position Summary This position serves as a member of a close-knit research team conducting research studies investigating the behavioral effects of drug use and abuse as well as the behavioral processes that may contribute to drug dependence. The Research Technologist I will handle all phone calls; schedule interviews, follow-up appointments, and experimental sessions, greet patients, schedule meetings, type and process forms, correspondence, manuscripts, etc. associated with the project; generate necessary reports; assist with recruitment and retention efforts.

Research Tech I

Bachelors degree in Psychology, Sociology, Public Health, Science or related plus 1 year work in the following field: research, evaluations, public health or related OR high school plus 5 years. Office or administrative experience desirable.

Position Summary   This person will serve as a research tech to the Primary Investigator of the project he/she is assigned and will make significant contributions to the achievement of the project's research goals. The Research Tech I will have primary responsibility in working to recruit study subjects and screen individuals for eligibility to participate in the study. Administer baseline and follow-up assessment interviews according to the research protocol. Schedule times and dates
to administer assessments. Communicate clearly and well using communication skills to engage the study subjects in the interview process and in the study. Facilitate communication to maintain the focus of the interview on the screening or assessment process. Collect vital signs, urine specimens and saliva specimens and record behavior and mood symptom data. Prepare daily reports of substance use and gather information from collateral informants. The position requires various skills in all phases of research including recruitment of subjects, data collection, data management, data analysis, and report writing. Meticulous attention to detail is a prerequisite attribute. Position requires a baccalaureate degree in a related field and a
minimum of 1 year of related professional research experience.
