We would be remiss if this newsletter did not give a special address to the efforts and achievements of the past Director of the Prosper Meniere Society, Dr. Irv Arenberg. Dr. Arenberg has dedicated his life to understanding Menieres disease, both through clinical practice and, more currently, through the innovative technology of the microcath system. In an effort to pool worldwide resources and expertise, Dr. Arenberg spent nearly 20 years organizing meetings for the Prosper Meniere Society. His efforts toward that end have resulted in an international society with the resources for putting on a multidisciplinary forum for studying inner ear disorders and diseases. His commitment to the society has been widely recognized, as evidenced by numerous letters responding to his decision to step down from the directorship. On a more personal note, Dr. Arenberg was the first individual to spark my interest in otology. He invited me to give my first presentation at the Aspen Meeting while still a resident and helped with arrangements for my fellowship in neurotology. For this reason, I am particularly interested in such Society activities as the Resident Research Award, in order to elicit the interest of young residents in the field of otology and inner ear disorders. Dr. Arenberg, we salute your leadership! Please Keep Dues Current! Members in good standing receive discounts on meeting registration. It is vital that our members keep current on the payments of their yearly dues, as these assist the Prosper Meniere Society in organizing world-class meetings and keep our organization working for the entire membership. Dues may be paid by check, Visa, MasterCard, or Discover. Contact Sara Winkler, Prosper Ménière Society Administrator, at 501-686-5025, if you have any questions regarding your dues status.
