PURPOSE |
| This four week-long program has been designed specifically for medical students who are eligible to take USMLE Step 2 and have had prior unsuccessful experience with this examination. Others are welcome to apply to the program. |
The program consists of these primary goals: |
| Identify the individual problems of the student, and help them overcome their difficulties with the Step 2 examination. |
| Assist students to develop: |
- Academic skills in organization and problem solving of material.
- Reasoning skills to allow students to answer questions.
- Self confidence in learning, testing skills and test performance.

PROGRAM CONTENT |
|
Diagnostic Testing: A diagnostic test is given at the beginning to enable students to monitor progress in overcoming specific
error patterns and problem areas.

Tests include: Diagnostic, Computerized Practice Quizzes and a Mock Board Exam.
|
| |
|
Lecture: Lectures are presented by experienced UAMS clinical faculty to the full group of students every morning and afternoon.
This didactic-oriented presentation will include lecture presentations of "must know" material and summaries of relevant subject areas.
The Department of Medicine will give approximately half of the lectures with the remaining time split between the
Departments of Surgery, Pediatrics, Obstetrics/Gynecology and Psychiatry.
In addition, lectures on Opthalmology, Public Health and Preventive Medicine are presented.

Question Sessions: Small group discussion sessions using USMLE style exam questions to practice problem solving strategies
and improve student understanding and confidence represent the hart of this program.

2008 SCHEDULE |
The Review Course is scheduled to begin on
Monday, July 7, 2008
and end on Friday, August 3, 2007.
These are full day sessions, starting at 8:30am and ending at 4:30pm.
Question Groups meet after 4:30 pm, Monday thru Thursday.
