Summer Undergraduate Research Fellowship (SURF) Program

The SURF 2010 application can be download here beginning in December. The dates for the program are Monday, June 7 through Friday, August 13, 2010. Contact Dr. Philip R. Mayeux by email or at (501) 686-8895 to request a hard copy of the application if you are having problems downloading the pdf file. The completed application and letters of recommendation must be received by Dr. Mayeux by Tuesday, March 16, 2010. Students will be notified of their status no later that April 10, 2010.

The Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology SURF program is funded in part by the American Society of Pharmacology and Experimental Therapeutics (ASPET). The goal of this national research program is to give undergraduate students who might be interested in graduate school and a career in biomedical research the opportunity to experience what it is like to work in a research lab and perform biomedical research in pharmacology or toxicology. Students spend 10 weeks working in the lab and earn $3,000. If you have any questions, contact Dr. Mayeux.
