UAMS Pediatric Chief Residents

Jill Sanders, MD

Pediatric Chief Resident 2007-2008

Dr. Sanders hails from Baytown, Texas. She graduated from the University of Texas with a BS in Biochemistry with high honors. Jill then moved on to Medical School at UT-Houston where she was able to root for her beloved Astros. She plans on a career in primary care pediatrics. For leisure activities, Jill enjoys planting flowers, reading and watching movies.

 

 

 

 

 

 

Surya Rednam, MD

Pediatric Chief Resident 2007-2008

Dr. Rednam grew up in St. Louis, Missouri, home of the Cardinals. He graduated from Duke University with a BS in Biomedical Engineering. Surya attended medical school at the University of Missouri in Columbia. He will be pursuing a fellowship in hematology/oncology through the Baylor College of Medicine program at Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, after his chief residency. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his beautiful English wife, Shilpa.

 

 

 

 

 

Lakisha Lee, MD

Pediatric Chief Resident 2008-2009

Dr. Lee grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana where she graduated with honors from Louisiana State University with a BS in Biological Sciences. She then enjoyed four enriching years at the LSU Health Sciences Center in New Orleans. After her chief residency, Lakisha looks forward to a career in the primary care setting. For leisure, she enjoys watching movies, photography, painting and spending time with her husband, Curtis.

 

 

 

 

 

Scott Gatlin, MD

Pediatric Chief Resident 2008-2009

Dr. Gatlin went to high school in Conway, AR. He graduated summa cum laude from the University of Arkansas with a BS in Chemical Engineering. Scott then attended medical school at University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, graduating with honors. After his chief residency, Scott will be pursuing a fellowship in cardiology. In his spare time Scott enjoys golf, hiking, and following his beloved Alabama Crimson Tide. The rest of Scott's time is spent with his lovely wife Kathy and his son, Jack.

 

 

 

 

Rachel Howell King, MD

Pediatric Chief Resident 2009-2010

Dr. Rachel King grew up and attended high school in Ashdown, AR.  She graduated from the University of Arkansas, Fayetteville with a BS in biological sciences.  Rachel then attended medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  After her chief residency, Rachel plans to return to her home town to practice primary care medicine and pediatrics.  In her free time Rachel enjoys golf, running, softball, skiing and spending time with her husband, Zach.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

Anna Ostrom, MD

Pediatric Chief Resident 2009-2010

Dr. Anna Ostrom grew up in Birmingham, Alabama and left briefly to attend the University of the South.  She graduated summa cum laude from Sewanee with a BS in Biology.  Anna then returned home to attend medical school at the University of Alabama in Birmingham.  In her spare time she enjoys hiking, movies, reading, and spending time with her husband Brad.
