Pediatric Pharmacology and
Toxicology provides individualized drug therapy and treatment regimens.
Twenty-four hour clinical services offered by Pharmacology and Toxicology
include:

An inpatient service that cares
for children admitted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital with poisoning or
overdoses

A drug monitoring service that
assists inpatient and outpatient clinical services with drug selection,
dosing, and monitoring for therapeutic and toxic effects

A nationwide consultation
service for physicians with pharmacologic or toxicologic questions
The Pediatric Pharmacology
Research Unit (PPRU) is one of 13 NIH-funded centers in the nation to
investigate drug dosing information for children. Additional research
interests in Pharmacology and Toxicology include improving pediatric drug
labeling, acetaminophen hepatitis, and delayed hypersensitivity reactions.
