General Pediatric clinics,
located at Arkansas Children’s Hospital, are staffed with highly qualified,
experienced board certified pediatricians who provide skilled, compassionate
care to patients with both common pediatric problems as well as complicated
chronic medical conditions. Routine well child care is also an important part of
the clinic mission. Physicians in the section also have expertise in the care of
more specialized patient populations, including asthma, pediatric overweight,
and headache. Section members conduct ongoing clinical research in a variety of
areas including burden-of-illness and pharmaceutical trials. The mission of
General Pediatrics is threefold: to provide acute and continuity of care for all
children who need quality medical intervention, to teach the state’s
pediatricians-in-training, and to provide a setting for clinical research.
