Cardiology offers state-of-the-art procedures and comprehensive post
operative care to patients from Arkansas and the region. The Cardiac
Catheterization team performs a variety of procedures including atrial
septal defect closure, angioplasty with stent implantation, and blade and
balloon atrial septostomy. Inpatient Cardiology and Intensive Care provides
attending coverage of the cardiac intensive care service including
post-operative care. Professionals in Non-invasive Cardiac Imaging use
state-of-the-art echocardiography ultrasound machines and interpret the
results for thousands of inpatients and outpatients each year. The Pediatric
Electrophysiology medical staff assesses arrhythmias and offers pacing and
defibrillator procedures support to the pediatric cardiovascular surgeons.
The Cardiac Transplant program is recognized at one of the leading
cardiac transplant programs in the United States. Cardiology Clinics and
Outreach conduct monthly patient clinics in Fayetteville, Fort Smith,
Texarkana, and Jonesboro.
Adult Congenital Heart Disease offers a comprehensive program to assist
adults by consulting, evaluating, and helping them manage their congenital
heart disease, and a specialized clinic offers care to patients who are
diagnosed with Marfan’s Syndrome, an inherited disorder of the connective
tissue.
