Clinical Interests

Diverse clinical interests related to all aspects of allergic disease and patients with immunodeficiency disorders.  She has specialized expertise in the fields of asthma, food allergy and immunology.

Research Interests

Dr. Jones' research interests focuses on both clinical and basic science research in asthma.  Dr. Jones is interested in the impact of disease management and education on asthmatics living in rural settings and special populations.  She and her collaborators are currently studying the mechanisms involved in ß2-adrenergic receptor down-regulation and trafficking following prolonged exposure to ß-agonist medications and have established a model for gene therapy using recombinant viral vector delivery of target genes to the airways of animals.  Dr. Jones and colleagues are also interested in the role of epidermal growth factor and other cellular factors in repair of injured airway tissues as a paradigm for study of airway remodeling in asthma.

Dr. Jones is also interested in food allergy and has conducted clinical trials related to peanut allergy, induction of tolerance using oral antigens and behavioral aspects of the food allergic response.
