Outpatient Pediatric Services
Outpatient services include emergency medicine, general pediatric
clinics, subspecialty clinics, and regional clinics. The section
of Emergency Medicine provides 24-hour physician staff support to the
Emergency Department at Arkansas Children's Hospital (ACH). The General
Pediatric Clinic is staffed by physicians from the Section of General
Pediatrics. The Clinic operates daily to provide both preventative
care as well as care for ill children. The After Hours Clinic
responds to calls during nights and weekends, anchoring a
round-the-clock program of general pediatric health care. Visits
to the General Pediatrics Clinic for fiscal year 2005-2006 were 60,963. |
In addition to general pediatric services, the department provides a
variety of subspecialty pediatric clinics at ACH, West Little Rock and
throughout Arkansas. Seven subspecialty services provide care in
regional clinic locations. Total outpatient pediatric volume
reached 158,902 patient visits during fiscal year 2005-2006, accounting
for 61.2% of total outpatient visits to ACH (259,480). In addition
to outpatient visits, pediatrics' faculty treated patients in 39,601
Emergency Room visits, and saw patients during 4,512 visits to regional
clinic sites located throughout the state. At the Dennis
Developmental Center, there were 6,331 patient visits. The
following lists of specialty and sub-specialty clinics reflect the
diversity of services offered
by the department's faculty.
