Translation and Interpreting Services UAMS Medical Center is fortunate to have a helpful resource in communicating with our non-English speaking (or LEP-Limited English Proficiency) patients. The Office of Translation and Interpreting Services is responsible for translation of patient education materials and hospital forms, as well as one-on-one interpreting services for Inpatient, Emergency Department and Short Stay units. Staffed by three interpreters, Mariella Hernandez, Rosa Reed-Skinner and Dulce Zamora, the office’s hours of operation are Monday – Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 p.m. You may contact the office during those times at 395-8231.
