Description: The
University
of
Arkansas
for Medical
Sciences offers a two-year fellowship in Dermatopathology.
The service interprets
over 12,000 skin biopsies per year, including cases from the
University
Hospital
,
Veterans
Administration Hospital
,
Arkansas
Children's Hospital and outside consultation cases from around the
country. The Dermatopathology unit consists
of two full-time board certified Dermatopathologists.
The service is closely coordinated with the Department of Dermatology
and fellows participate in Dermatology clinics and conferences.
The Dermatopathology service performs a wide range of immunostaining and molecular biologic techniques which the fellow is expected to master. The second year of the training program is largely
elective and the fellow is expected to undertake a large research
project.
Requirements: Applicants should be Board eligible in AP,
AP/CP or Dermatology. Application deadline is November 1.
Stipend: $47,000 per year
