The Dermatopathology Service interprets over 20,000 skin
biopsies per year, including cases from the University Hospital, Veterans
Administration Hospital, Arkansas Children's Hospital and outside
consultation cases from around the country. The Dermatopathology unit
consists of three active full-time board
certified Dermatopathologists. The service is closely coordinated with
the Department of Dermatology and fellows participate in Dermatology clinics
and conferences. The Dermatopathology service performs a wide range of
special stains, immunohistochemical stains, and
molecular techniques. Direct immunofluorescence and transmission and
scanning electron microscopy are also performed on our service.
