Pathology is the diagnosis of disease from specimens of body tissue or fluid. The Department of Pathology faculty provide excellence in Anatomic and Clinical
Pathology, utilizing the resources of three premier hospitals in the state of
Arkansas: University Hospital, John L. McClellan Veterans Memorial Hospital, and Arkansas Children's Hospital.
Our faculty assist physicians, hospitals, industry, community health agencies, home health agencies, government agencies, and researchers throughout the state.
Anatomic Pathology includes Surgical
Pathology, Autopsy, Orthopedic Pathology, Dermatopathology, Nephropathology,
Neuropathology, Pediatric Pathology, Forensic Pathology, Utrastructural
Pathology, Immunopathology, Molecular Biology, Cytopathology
and fine needle aspiration.
Clinical Pathology
includes laboratory Hematology and Hematopathology, Immunology, Blood
Banking, Apheresis, Flow Cytometry, HLA, Special Coagulation, Clinical Chemistry, Cytogenetics and Molecular
