5/7/2012 - Video Modeling for Social and Language Development by Bryan Ayres and Susie Brannon, Easter Seals Arkansas Technology Center AND Sensory Processing Issues Commonly Associated with Autism Spectrum Disorders by Meg Clevenger and Amy Goddard, Easter Seals Outreach Team.  (One day conferences with half day dedicated to each topic.) 5/17/2012 - Cross Cultural Perspectives: Focus on Latin American Families, presented by Sabrina Zarco.  This interactive training will focus on creating staff self-awareness and address how to approach cross-cultural communication with Latin American children and families in a more competent manner. 5/17/2012 - Working Effectively with Bilingual Interpreters and Translators, presented by Darlene Kurtz, M.A.  Do you provide services for families who speak languages other than English? Have you ever needed to use a bilingual interpreter or translator but didn’t know what to tell them or how to prepare for the interpreted meeting?  Come learn the three steps necessary for effective interpreted meetings, participate in small group activities to better understand the dynamics of interpreting, and learn how to avoid errors in translated materials.
