Employee/Student Parking

Information Sheet

Employees and students approved for Motorcycle parking should register their motorcycle with UAMS Parking Operations. We ask that the UAMS parking decal be properly displayed to avoid receiving a parking citation. The decal should be placed on the right front fork of the motorcycle.

PARKING OFFICE CONTACT INFORMATION

1. The Parking Department is located on the 2^nd floor of the Distribution Center at 7^th and Cottage.

2. The office hours are 7:30 am – 4:00 pm. Monday through Friday.

PARKING LOT ACCESS

1. The motorcycle areas are located on D-Level of Parking 2 (North Deck), under the carport behind Family Practice, in the marked areas in Parking 1 (South Deck), and striped areas in Parking 3 (East Deck). Motorcycles should park in Motorcycle marked areas or non vehicle areas only.

2. Gate sensors have difficulty detecting motorcycles and similar vehicles. Please exercise caution around moving gate arms.

GENERAL INFORMATION

1. Additional motorcycles can be registered for a $2.00 decal fee. If it is necessary, for a day, to drive a motorcycle to campus without a decal please contact UAMS Parking to be placed on the “No Ticket List” for up to three days.

2. If an employee or student needs to park in a UAMS visitor area as a patient or a visitor of a patient, please call 526-PARK (7275) to be placed on the “No Ticket List”. If at all possible, please park in your assigned parking area.

3. A key card will not be issued to motorcycle parkers that park in the deck. Gates have been shortened for motorcycles to go around.

4. Only one registered vehicle should be parked in the assigned lot. Abuse of this policy could result in loss of parking privileges.

5. In the Parking Industry, it is common practice to overbook parking areas by a certain percentage due to employees on vacation or working different shifts. This maximizes the number of physical parking spaces on campus. On occasion the lot might fill. If so, please contact the Parking Office to be given an alternate parking location.

PARKING SECURITY

We strive to maintain a safe parking environment through collaborative efforts with stakeholders. Referenced below are security initiatives currently in place. If you notice suspicious activity in the deck, please call the UAMS Police Department at 686-7777.

• Surveys to assure lighting meets campus standards of .4 lumens on lots and 2.0 lumens inside decks

• Emergency phones are indicated with blue lights on each parking level

• Security cameras on Parking 1 (South Deck), Parking 2 (North Deck), Parking 3 (East Deck) and Lot 14

• Gated Access

• UAMS Police Department patrols regularly

PARKING ENFORCEMENT

Employee vehicles parked in visitor area or vehicles without a proper decal or temporary pass will be issued citations. Parking is enforced 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

COURTESY TO OUR PATTIENTS AND VISITORS

Please be courteous to our patient and visitors while driving in the deck. Many of them are entering the deck for the first time and are unfamiliar with the environment.

SMOKING POLICY

UAMS is a smoke free campus. Please do not smoke on campus or in your personal vehicle while on campus. Violators will be reported to their supervisor and could lose parking privileges. We ask for your help in keeping our parking areas clean.
