Hands UAMS Medical Center employs some of the nation's most distinguished medical professionals. Robert Lumsden II, MD, FACS, Director of the Center for Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery, is no exception. A faculty member of the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences, Dr. Lumsden is fellowship trained in Hand Surgery and is a member of the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the American Association of Hand Surgeons. He is active in research, education and patient care. Dr. Lumsden employs an interdisciplinary approach, working closely with UAMS Medical Center's plastic surgeons, occupational therapists and other specialists and is referred complex problems from all over Arkansas and neighboring States. Patients of the Center for Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery can rest assured that their hands are in capable ones. Theresa Wyrick-Glover, MD, has recently joined the Center for Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery as Assistant Professor after completing a fellowship in hand and upper extremity surgery at Thomas Jefferson University in Philadelphia, PA. She is a native of Little Rock, Arkansas, and completed her medical school and residency training in orthopaedic surgery at UAMS. She is thrilled to be back home taking care of patients from all over the state of Arkansas. She treats patients both at UAMS and Arkansas Children's Hospital for a variety of conditions including fractures and trauma, nerve compression, arthritis and complex reconstruction of the hand.
