CRS Program Course Requirements

Certified Research Specialist complete 28 CRS contact hours, as follows:

 
  • UAMS Human Subject Protection training course through CITI (4 hours)
  • Essentials of Quality Human Subject Research (6 hours)

                               OR

Three Essentials constituent courses (2 hours each)

    • CLARA Submission/ IRB Review
    • Informed Consent
    • Record Keeping and Regulatory Binders
  • Advanced Research Ethics (4 hours)
  • Adverse Event Reporting (2 hours)
  • Developing a Research Protocol (2 hours)
  • Writing Standard Operating Procedures (2 hours)
  • Responsible Conduct of Research (2 hours)
  • Electives (6 hours)

You may count a total of 6 contact hours from other programs (conferences, workshops, etc.) towards your CRS elective hours, with the approval of the Compliance Education Program Manager.
