The members of the Human Research Advisory Committee are appointed to four-year terms by the Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs and Sponsored Research. There are three separate committees. The first committee (IRB #1) meets the first Tuesday of each month. The second committee (IRB#2) meets the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month. The third committee (IRB #3) meets the fourth Tuesday of each month. Federal requirements mandate that the HRAC must have at least five members of varying backgrounds to promote complete and adequate review of research activities commonly conducted at this institution. HRAC members must be knowledgeable about institutional commitments and regulations, applicable laws, standards of professional conduct, and practice.

A fourth committee, the Behavioral and Social Sciences IRB, has recently been created. The Behavioral and Social Sciences IRB meets monthly and studies reviewed by this committee are considered medically non-invasive. Medically non-invasive studies involve questionnaires, surveys, interviews, focus groups, etc. The current members of this Committee are listed below:
