Did you know that every time a U-Temps employee is used, you are helping UAMS?

That’s right! When a U-Temps employee is placed on an assignment, the administrative fees stay with UAMS. Also, the administrative fees are at a cost below that of other temporary agencies. These fees help fund and sponsor programs, training sessions, communications and special events designed for UAMS employees by the Office of Human Resources.

Our campus is growing and we are looking for professionals to help you meet those growing challenges. We can handle a wide range of positions and skill bases that are sure to meet you needs. Conveniently located with the Office of Human Resources, in the Annex, we can help you find the ideal temporary support for those short- or long-term assignments or while you are looking for a permanent employee.

U-Temps utilizes a recruiting program, which provides a pool of individuals ready to meet your temporary needs. Our staff will promptly handle any problems or questions that may arise during the U-Temps assignment. During the assignment, the U-Temps staff will make routine follow-ups to ensure that everyone is completely satisfied with our services.

Each U-Temps employee will complete a time sheet and submit it to the U-Temps office no later than 4:30 p.m. on Friday before the beginning of a new UAMS biweekly pay period. It is important that you review and sign the time sheet to ensure proper payment to the employee and billing to your department. The UAMS Controller’s Office will make charges to your departmental account for the services of a U-Temps employee. Information for calculating charges is taken from the record of hours worked as shown on the U-Temps employee’s time sheet.

Requesting a U-Temps Employee (Job Order Request)

We would like your experience with our Office to be positive; therefore, we ask your cooperation with request printed below. If you need a temporary or already have someone in mind to work for you in a temporary assignment, we will need some basic information to start our process. By providing the following information, we can ensure you prompt and accurate service.

  • The assignment or job duties needed for the temporary assignment.
  • The date you need the temporary to start and the length of the assignment.
  • The rate of pay.
  • The account number and slot number that you would like to use for billing purposes.
  • The location and person the temporary will be reporting to.
  • Any special skills needed to complete the assignment.
  • If you already have a person in mind, their name, pay rate, and the date they will be in to complete the sign-up paperwork.
