Effective April 1, 2008, Superior Vision replaced Spectera as our vision plan carrier.    Open Enrollment was held through 3-21-2008.   Another Open Enrollment will be held at the end of the year, for coverage to take effect 1-1-2009.    Future Open Enrollments may be offered, although not guaranteed to be held annually.   New employees may enroll at orientation.

Who should sign up for Vision?    The plan is open to all benefit-eligible employees.   But it primarily benefits those who have vision impairments.    The vision plan helps lower out of pocket costs when you purchase frames, lenses and contacts, or when you have an eye exam.  

Since you will likely only use the benefit once a year (the plan year is the calendar year), be sure to go to a provider in Superior Vision’s network to get your best benefit.   UAMS Jones Eye Institute is in the network for U of A employees.
