Introducing the UAMS Online Employee Exit Survey

UAMS now has an Online Employee Exit Survey designed to assist management in learning from departing employees what might be done to improve working conditions.  The survey will be used to provide feedback to departments that may be used to improve management practices, to increase employee retention, and to further enhance the overall quality of each employee’s experience with UAMS.  This survey is the product of the cooperative efforts of an ad hoc committee comprised of faculty, staff and administrators, who volunteered to assist the Office of Human Resources in all design efforts.

Survey Administration

This exit survey represents a continuous effort as we attempt to capture the valuable opinions of departing employees.   The Office of Human Resources invites all departing employees to participate in the survey.  Likewise, departments should encourage departing employees to complete the exit survey.

There are different methods of inviting departing employees to take part the UAMS Online Exit Survey

1)      The Office of Human Resources, if timely notified, can send invitations via e-mail, delivered to the department, or through USPS for each departing employee.  The invitation will explain the purpose of the survey, the measures used to ensure the survey participant’s confidentiality is protected, and a Web address (the electronic version contains a link).  The anticipated time to take the survey is approximately 10 minutes.

2)      Departments may request that employees go online at  http://www.uams.edu/ohr/CompleteEI.htm to complete the survey upon becoming aware that an employee is departing

3)      Employees who visit the Annex (HR location) during the separation clearance process will be asked to complete the survey, if not done previously, at a PC set aside for that purpose

Using the Survey

All departments are encouraged to immediately start using the Online Survey.  There are several reports that can be obtained from collected survey data.  To request reports based on demographic data, reasons for leaving, or departing comments and questions, please contact the Office of Human Resources at 686.6562.
