TN Visa Classification

(Canadian and Mexican Professionals under NAFTA)

 

 This temporary, non-immigrant visa status is only for Canadian and Mexican nationals working in certain professions.  The initial period of stay is one year with yearly extensions possible.  Although the purpose of stay must continue to be temporary, there is no limit to the total period of stay.

 

At UAMS, those professions available for TN classification are:  Statistician, Research Assistant, Scientific Technician/Technologist, Social Worker, Technical Publications Writer, Dietitian, Medical Laboratory Technologist, Nutritionist, Occupational Therapist, Pharmacist, Physician (teaching and or research only), Physical Therapist, and Scientist.

 

In order to qualify for this classification, the individual must possess the credentials to support their qualification for the position.
