Materials in the OED Library may be used in the
Library/Conference Room by any student or faculty member at UAMS. Materials
may be checked out to OED faculty or staff by signing the circulation card
and placing it in the card box. Materials checked out to OED faculty/staff
will automatically be recalled in 6 months if they have not been returned.
OED provides services to all Colleges and faculty in planning, design,
production, and implementation of Web-Based Learning. Faculty in OED work
with Departments and/or Colleges to design and produce WebCT templates,
design web-based courses, and translate learning outcomes from the classroom
to web-based learning materials. In addition, OED supports the production of
Web-Based Learning Materials.
The Teaching Scholars program seeks to improve the teaching
skills of faculty in the five health professions colleges and to nurture the
development of a group of faculty who actively engage in the scholarship of
teaching.
OED is creating a number of “Fact Sheets” for distribution in
print and on our Web site. They will be useful bits of information for
faculty across the UAMS campus.
The Teaching and
Technology committee was formed to meet the special needs of
teachers using educational technology. Access to development
workstations with all the necessary tools installed, paid for,
and kept up-to-date by someone else, is sufficient for most
instructor-developers.
