Using the Classroom Performance
System (CPS) for Educational Purposes
Introduction
CPS is an audience
response system, composed of two major components: a receiving
device and keypads. A speaker can pose a question to an audience
using the CPS projection system, asking the question orally
(i.e., discussion questions), or writing out questions (i.e., a
multiple-choice exam). The audience members each have an
electronic keypad that allows them to send the signal to a
receiving device. CPS can tabulate responses and create a
summary of responses while allowing the audience participants to
remain anonymous, or it can record and identify responses from
individual audience members.
