Beatrice Boateng, Ph.D.

Service

Dr Boateng works with faculty primarily on instructional development.

Dr Boateng also works with Graduate Medical Education in Educator, Administrator, Scholar, Evaluator/Counselor (E.A.S.E.) program assists program directors and coordinators with their educational roles. She serves on the GME Internal Review subcommittee. Dr. Boateng also collaborates with faculty on educational research, and evaluation. She assists with research design, manuscript preparation for publication, data collection and analysis.  She also assists with the development of instructional methods to enhance classroom instruction; particularly team based learning (TBL). Dr. Boateng is a member of the American Educational Research Association (AERA) and the American Evaluation Association (AEA). She serves as a reviewer for Medical Education Online.

Teaching

Dr. Boateng’s teaching activities include instructional design and curriculum development. She provides small group instruction and one-on-one instruction on Team Based Learning and other innovation methods to improve classroom and online instruction.

Scholarship

Her areas of scholarship interests include the application of mixed method approach, qualitative research, self directed learning and team based learning. She is also interested in instructional technology for the Health Professions and Open Source applications.
