Sarah Crawley
Instructor - eLearning
|
Background
Sarah Crawley graduated from the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management Information Systems, with an emphasis in software and website technology.
Sarah was a student worker on the Information Technology Help Desk during her sophomore year at UCA, and then was hired full-time as Administrative Assistant for the Education Renewal Zone (ERZ). The ERZ is a joint venture between UCA and the Arkansas Department of Education. While a full-time student, Sarah worked with both state and regional management, internal departments, outside vendors and 22 partner schools. She provided leadership, training, and technical support for the partnering schools as well as other ERZ regional offices. In addition, she developed and maintained the ERZ website.
After graduation, Sarah joined the UAMS team as a Project Analyst for the College of Medicine. She provided technical support within the department for Wimba (a real-time collaboration software tool that allows groups to meet online for lectures, review sessions, meetings, etc.), TurningPoint (a software "add-in" to MS PowerPoint that allows interactive presentations using "clickers"), and Blackboard (software providing and managing online learning environments for distance learning and supplementing "traditional" courses).
In 2010, Sarah began working in the Audio Visual department as a Computer Support Analyst. In that capacity, she trained and supported UAMS faculty and staff on Turning Point and Wimba, set up classroom equipment in the lecture halls, designed databases, and maintained the AV website.
Currently, Sarah is an Instructor-eLearning in the Office of Educational Development providing instructional design and learning technology support for staff and faculty. She recently attended the Blackboard World Conference where she was trained to implement their new product, Collaborate. She is currently the Wimba Classroom and Blackboard Collaborate Administrator for the UAMS campus and serves on several committees including the "Collaborate Cohort" and the "Bug Squad for Blackboard".
Sarah's first encounter with Blackboard was as a high school student taking online courses for a head start in her college education. She is once again an online student working toward a Masters in Learning Systems Technology Education from UALR. She plans to use this degree to better train and support the instructors at UAMS.
