Dr. Thrush has worked in an academic health center environment since 1991, collaborating on research and scholarship with physicians and other health care professionals, and has been actively involved in the field of medical education since 2005.
Currently, Dr. Thrush directs the UAMS Teaching Scholars program and co-directs GME EASE faculty development program for residency and fellowship program directors at UAMS. Dr. Thrush also works collaboratively with faculty at UAMS both individually and as a member of several small-group educational project teams to provide expertise in educational theory and research, data analysis, the development of educational materials, grant proposals and manuscripts for publication.
At the national level, Dr. Thrush is an active member of the Association of American Medical Colleges-Group on Educational Affairs, the American Educational Research Association-Division I-Education in the Professions, The Generalists in Medical Education, and ORI's Research on Research Integrity group. She is a recent past Chair (2009-2011) of the AAMC's SGEA GME Section, and served as program chair for The Generalists in Medical Education annual meeting in 2011. She actively serves as a reviewer for medical education research conferences and journals.
Her areas of research and scholarly interest have spanned a number of arenas including medical education research, research integrity, psychometrics, quality improvement and performance measurement, content analysis methodologies, and faculty development.
