Workshops

Below are the eLearning workshops offered to faculty by the UAMS Office of Educational Development. Please view the schedule and sign up for available workshops.

One-Day Immersion

Accomplish all three training sessions in just one day (6 hours) and receive access to Blackboard 8.0 and Wimba. This is an intensive all day training session where you will be trained on the following topics:

Blackboard 8 Essentials 8:30 to 10:30
Introduction to Wimba (Part One) 10:45 to 11:45
Lunch on your own 11:45 to 12:45
Introduction to Wimba (Part Two) 12:45 to 1:45
Conquering the Content 2:00 to 4:00

* All workshops require you to bring a laptop with wireless access

* Participants must remain the entire day to receive credit

Blackboard 8.0 Essentials
Prerequisites(s): None
Length: 2 Hours

In this workshop you will learn how to display course content to your students. You will also become familiar with communication, evaluation and assessment tools offered in Blackboard 8.0.

Introduction to Wimba Classroom and Voice
Prerequisites(s): Blackboard 8 Essentials
Length: 2 Hours

In this workshop you will become familiar with the tools and interface of Wimba Classroom and Wimba Voice and know how to integrate them into your Blackboard 8.0 course.

Conquering the Content
Prerequisites(s): Blackboard 8 Essentials
Length: 2 Hours

In this workshop you will learn the best methods for configuring materials for the online environment and time-saving methods for presenting course content in Blackboard 8.0.
