Application Information
Selection of residents is
one of the most important decisions our department makes. We select from
eligible applicants based on their academic preparedness, ability, aptitude,
communication skills and personal qualities such as compassion and motivation.
The Department of
Obstetrics and Gynecology uses the
Electronic Residency
Application Service (ERAS) and participates in the
National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). We
offer approximately 40 interviews per year in order to meet you and give you an
opportunity to learn more about our program. To be considered for an interview,
we must first receive a complete application which includes the following:
-ERAS application
-Medical school transcript
-USMLE Step 1 and 2 scores (if available)
-Three letters of recommendation (a letter from the chairman is not required)
-Medical school Dean’s Letter
Your application should be
completed by November 30th. Once received, your application will be
reviewed and interviews will be offered to eligible applicants. Interviews are
conducted over a 6 week period from November through mid-January. Applicants
meet with the Residency Program Director along with a series of faculty and one
resident. Applicants will then have an informal lunch with the residents and
faculty followed by a tour of the facilities.
