Interactive Teleconferences The primary purpose of these
teleconferences is to
provide Arkansas doctors the opportunity to interact with
other physicians and medical professionals statewide, in an
effort to establish and maintain current best medical
practices. An illustrative case presentation and/or
guidelines are often utilized to accomplish this initiative.
The second purpose of these teleconferences is to provide a
recurring setting in which Arkansas doctors can work
together with UAMS doctors. Learning from each other, as
well as getting to know each other better, will only aid us
to provide more comprehensive care for our patients.
UAMS offers teleconferences in the following specialties:
Evidence-Based Guidelines
Reaching out through a growing real-time, interactive video network, ANGELS continues to develop
evidence-based guidelines with the combined expertise of physicians across Arkansas. This collaborative forum provides health care providers an opportunity to define best practices for selected conditions and peer-review of high-risk cases. Discussions are lively and informative with case studies presented by providers across the state. Specialists from multiple disciplines contribute current expertise and management practices.
For more information regarding the guidelines or the collaborative teleconferencing programs, please contact the ANGELS Call Center: (501) 526-7425 or toll-free at (866) 273-3835.
Perinatal
Conference
The annual conference on
perinatal care targets obstetrical and neonatal providers from all over
Arkansas. Typical attendees are nurses, physicians, advanced practice nurses,
sonographers, genetics counselors, social workers and pharmacists. The
conference theme is changed yearly but provides an overview of the latest
research in the fields as well as how to best care for high-risk OB patients.
Local as well as national experts give informative talks in a formal setting;
however, one of the most important aspects of this conference is a chance to
network with UAMS health care providers as well as colleagues from around the
state. If you’ve never joined us for one of these conferences, consider it and
bring your coworkers. The conference is typically held each April in the Little
Rock area. Watch the website for further details.
