Study Title: A Randomized Parallel Group, Open-Label, Active Controlled, Multicenter Phase III Trial of Patupilone (EPO906) Versus Pegylated Liposomal Doxorubicin (Doxil®/Caelyx®) In Taxane/Platinum Refractory/Resistant Patients with Recurrent Epithelial Ovarian, Primary Fallopian or Primary Peritoneal Cancer.

Description: This study is for patients that have had one course of chemotherapy and did not respond or recurred within six months.  The study drug serves as a second-line chemotherapy.

Study Title: A Randomized, Double-Blind, Placebo-Controlled, Multicenter, 18 Week Pilot Study to Investigate the Neuroprotective Effect of Procrit (Epoetin Alfa) on the Development of Peripheral Neuropathy in Patients Receiving Chemotherapy for Advanced Ovarian Cancer.

Description: This study is for patients who are starting chemotherapy for the first time.  The drug is being studied to find out if it helps prevent chemotherapy induced peripheral neuropathy which is a tingling sensation in the fingers and toes.

Study Title: Evaluation of multiple biomarker assays to estimate risk of ovarian cancer in patients presenting with a pelvic mass.

Description: This study is being done to help develop a blood test for ovarian cancer.  Patients who have a pelvic mass are asked to participate by providing a urine and blood sample.

Study Title: UARK 2004-24, Acquisition of Human Gynecologic Specimens and Serum to be Used in Studying the Causes, Diagnoses, Prevention and Treatment of Cancer and Other Gynecologic Abnormalities here at UAMS.

Description: This study is a tumor bank study.  Patients undergoing a gynecologic surgery are asked to participate.
