The Antenatal and Neonatal Guidelines, Education and Learning
System, (ANGELS), is an innovative consultative service for a wide range of
physicians including family practitioners, obstetricians,
neonatologists, and pediatricians in Arkansas.
With significant support from the Arkansas Medicaid Program,
ANGELS provides evidence-based guidelines for maternal-fetal and
neonatal care. The Maternal-Fetal Medicine and Neonatology
Divisions develop these guidelines in collaboration with physicians
across Arkansas.
Weekly telemedicine conferences, conducted via interactive
compressed video, enable physicians to confer with maternal-fetal
medicine specialists at UAMS in real time about individual cases.
Local physicians, UAMS physicians, and patients are able to talk and
see each other during the examinations. ANGELS also provides a
call center to provide 24-hour support for physicians to consult
with maternal-fetal medicine and neonatal specialists when requested
regarding patient management issues.
As part of the ANGELS outreach effort, women seeking support for
concerns related to their pregnancy, labor and delivery, or
post-partum course can also utilize the services of the call center.
Please call 866-273-3835 for questions or assistance with
outpatient referral appointments, clinical telemedicine, or any
ANGELS service.
ANGELS Guidelines
In collaboration with volunteer family practitioners,
obstetricians, neonatologists, and pediatricians in Arkansas, ANGELS
is developing guidelines for best practices in maternal-fetal
medicine and neonatology. The
guidelines
reflect evidence-based medicine as well as the input of volunteer
physicians.
ANGELS invites physicians to participate in
teleconferences about
individual draft guidelines.
