Obstetrics and Gynecology

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology consists of five divisions:

The Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology provides routine gynecological and standard pregnancy care, plus specialized care for women during pregnancy. Along with the basic gynecological and obstetrical care, our Board certified Maternal-Fetal Medicine physicians treat high-risk pregnancies and unusual problems associated with pregnancy. We welcome referrals for pregnancy-related obstetrical problems such as pregnancy complicated by diabetes, hypertension, cardiac disease, collagen vascular disease, or abnormal ultrasound findings. In addition to two high-risk pregnancy clinics per week, the Community Women's Health Center's obstetric clinic offers special antennal clinics for pre-term birth prevention and diabetes in pregnancy.

In addition to routine obstetrical and gynecological care and specialized maternal-fetal medicine care, our physicians also treat all problems associated with the reproductive tract of women including problems involving female urinary incontinence, difficult hormone replacement therapy management, and the treatment of genetic defects of the reproductive tract.

The Division of Reproductive Endocrinology and Infertility offers both diagnostic and therapeutic services in infertility such as artificial inseminations and ovulation induction, and fallopian tube re-canalization by Board certified Reproductive Endocrinologists.

Our Board certified Gynecological Oncologists provide high level care for women with cancer. We have a well- established tumor clinic held at the Arkansas Cancer Research Center which manages both common and unusual neoplasia of the female genital tract.
