ITEM TYPE 9:

Scaled Answer - LEFTMOST answer (A) gets 100% of possible points.

Darken response circles B E on the Item Type sheet for Type 9 items.

With this item type, you should mark A as the "correct answer" on the KEY sheet.

This item type assigns credit to responses in a reverse order to item type 8 above.  For recording scores of student work, it may be somewhat easier to use than type 8, because the grader can think of A, B, C, D, E (=F) as traditional letter grades.

If the item is left blank, no points are awarded.  The Interactive Score Entry (ISE) feature of the system may be more convenient for the instructor's use when manual scores are to be used.
