New
Management Team Takes on Challenges
More than
10 years under contract management, Nutrition Services operations has returned
to UAMS. A new UAMS management team
welcomes the challenge to bring improved Nutrition Services to patient,
clinical, catering and retail operations.
The
future holds exciting challenges for Nutrition Services. Patient Satisfaction is one of the top
priorities for improvement. After the
completion of a department computerized system, menus will be modernized along
with researching new food service options and planning of a patient food
program. This will enable us to ensure
UAMS patients receive a variety of nutritious meals that will assist in their
healing process.
Improvements
are also scheduled for retail operations. The first renovation will begin the Outpatient Clinics food area. A modern cart is being developed to provide
convenient foods such as pre-made sandwiches, salads, pizzas, Panini’s,
specialty coffees & fruit smoothies and at the same time provide hot meal choices.
Renovation
of the cafeteria will offer an inviting dining atmosphere, while providing
excellent menu choices that will meet all of our customers needs. Nutrition Services plans on revamping many
menu choices to incorporate the Healthy Arkansas guidelines.
