4. Committee Structure

    1. The Hospital Medical Staff has a number of standing committees on which Nursing is represented. A list of representatives is available in the office of the Chief Nursing Officer.
    2. Clinical Programs has five interdisciplinary governance councils on which Nursing is represented.   Professional Practice Governance council bylaws may be found in the Clinical Programs Policy Manual.  PROFESSIONAL PRACTICE GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE MS 6A list of Nursing representation on these councils is available in the office of the Chief Nursing Officer.
    3. Ad hoc committees are formed at the direction of CNO for specific projects or problems affecting patient care and/or staff. Minutes of all meetings are recorded and become permanent records within the Department.

F.  HOURS OF OPERATION

  1. Inpatient
    1. Nursing care is provided to patients admitted to bedded units and Labor & Delivery twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. Staffing is based on patient care needs and is adjusted for changing patient acuity and/or census.
    2. The Patient Care Services Business Office is open from 0800 to 1630, Monday through Friday. During these times, the Chief Nursing Officer, Nursing Directors or their designees may be reached through this office. At other times, the Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) on duty or the appropriate outpatient administrator can be reached by calling the hospital operator or by paging.

      2.  Outpatient

Outpatient Clinic hours vary depending on the needs of the patient populations they serve. Information regarding clinic hours may be obtained by calling the specific clinic directly or through the UAMS Access Center.
