9. PATIENT TRANSPORT

K.     NURSING PERSONNEL: SELECTION, RETENTION, DEVELOPMENT, EVALUATION, AND CREDENTIALING

1.  ADVERTISING/POSTING

    Available positions are advertised internally on a weekly Job Vacancy Announcement and externally via the 24-hour Job Vacancy Hotline. Additional advertising in newspapers and journals are conducted as needed. Vacancies are also listed on the UAMS Web Page.

2.  INTERVIEWING/SELECTION PRACTICES
    1. All applicants for non-licensed positions follow the Campus interviewing and selection process through the Department of Human Resources.
    2. All applicants for licensed positions are initially screened by the Nurse Recruitment Office after completing an application for employment. License must be validated according to Addendum K.1 - License Validation.
    3. Following the initial screening, selected applicants are interviewed by the Clinical Services Manager and/or the Department Director or designee of the unit in which the applicant expresses an interest.
