SUBJECT: MANDATORY SAFETY REQUIREMENTS

Guidelines for mandatory safety requirements are as follows:

:ORIENTATION/Annual Requirements

  1. Participate in educational activities offered during orientation and annually.

  3. All the areas below are included in the online Annual Requirements Module:
  1. Fire Safety
  2. Electrical Safety
  3. Infection Control
  4. Body Mechanics
  5. Disaster Plan
  6. BLS Training
  7. Bloodborne Pathogens
  8. Age Specific Competencies
  9. Restraints (if indicated)
  10. Abuse (if indicated)
  11. Confidentiality/Living Will
  12. Patient Safety Goals/Competency Checklist
  13. Corporate Compliance

Other requirements are identified in each unit's policy and are reviewed during the annual performance appraisal.

Documentation of competencies must be kept in the employee's personnel file or in Training Tracker Record
