SUBJECT: ASSIGNMENT OF CODE BEEPER FOR INTENSIVE CARE UNITS

A Critical Care nurse will carry the pager (333 beeper). The nurse who carries the code beeper will be ACLS trained. 

In the event that the nurse assigned to carry the code beeper is unable to safely perform this role due to patient acuity or decreased staffing, the Critical Care CDF's will collaborate to assure code pager coverage..
