The PNO encourages Registered Nurses to obtain national nursing certification related to their patient specialty. Scope of Practice Council establishes criteria for credentialing nurses practicing in an expanded role that is in compliance with the Arkansas State Board of Nursing. This council also reviews submitted national certification criteria for approval for RN certification bonus. RN certification is supported by reimbursement of initial
certification testing fees when the applicant can demonstrate successful
obtainment of certification. A copy of
the application with the testing fee shown and a copy of the certification
granted is required for reimbursement. Certification that is presently recognized specific to the
RNs patient specialty is as follows:
