Due to the nature and complex care required for patients on 2A, the visiting policy is strictly enforced.  Visitors are limited to two at a time in a semi-private room.  Exceptions must be approved by CSM or CDF.

1. Exceptions to this policy include patients:

1. Scheduled for OR, invasive procedures or discharge
2. Admitted before or after visiting hours
3. Scheduled for discharge teaching or planning with family
4. In a terminal condition
5. In private rooms
6. Whose family are needed to participate in providing quality care, i.e., language translation, patient mentally unstable

2. Visitors of the same sex may stay overnight with the patient in a semi-private room per RN or physician request when the patient meets one the following criteria

1. Critical condition
2. Unable to remain without constant assistance due to mental status, inability to call nurse when condition warrants

3. Exceptions are communicated by RN to the next shift.  A visitor pass is issued by the PSC.
4. Visiting hours end at 8:30 p.m.
