The Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) invites applications from qualified individuals (PhD, or equivalent) for a tenure-track faculty position. As part of an ongoing recruitment to increase faculty and expand research efforts, the Department is seeking outstanding investigators with research interests in microbial pathogenesis. Applicants with expertise in bacterial or viral pathogenesis are especially preferred. The successful applicant will be expected to develop an active extramurally-funded research program, to teach in courses for professional (MD) and graduate students, and to participate in routine academic service duties. A competitive start-up package and laboratory space will be offered.
